The Rise and Fall of Michelle Mone

The two-part BBC documentary tells the extraordinary story of Baroness Mone of Mayfair, the millionaire lingerie entrepreneur who is now embroiled in a PPE scandal which broke in the aftermath of the Covid pandemic.

I had an incredible time working with director Erica Jenkin, trying to find the right balance between something fun that mirrored Mone’s rise in 1980’s Glasgow and music that was urgent and serious to reflect her controversial fall. The music I composed ranges from grander orchestral themes to lighter pizzicato moments that have an underlying foreboding feeling to fun, nostalgic music that was reflected the 80’s and 90s . There are sounds of coins as percussive textures, electronic bugging and glitchy noises as well as propulsive and tense soundscapes for the darker, investigative moments.

You can now watch it here on BBC iPlayer.
